How we support Ocean Mind

Recalibrate is proud to support the efforts of the charity Ocean Mind. Their therapeutic surf program helps young regional Victorians experiencing mental health challenges, social isolation, and living with disabilities.

Maintaining good mental health in young people is one of the most significant challenges of the 21st century. Over the past five years, there has been a steady increase in young people experiencing mental ill-health with one in four young people at risk of developing a severe mental health illness. Research shows that early intervention models such as the Ocean Mind program can reduce the severity and impact of mental illness.

Since 2016, Ocean Mind has provided more than 540 hours of therapeutic surfing for over 280 young people in regional Victoria. We have chosen to continuously support Ocean Mind as we believe in the impact they have. Their mix of surfing and mentoring in natural surroundings creates a fun and therapeutic environment which allows young people to have fun, provides them an opportunity to challenge themselves, learn new skills and flourish.

As a Dovetail Social Impact Partner, Recalibrate contributes a percentage of its ongoing profits to Ocean Mind, holds various community fundraising events, spreads awareness of the work Ocean Mind is doing and collects donations on their behalf.
